Teaser Tuesday #36- Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme where you post a quote from a book you are currently reading. It is hosted by A Daily Rhythm.

“Hope can be a powerful force. Maybe there's no actual magic in it, but when you know what you hope for most and hold it like a light within you, you can make things happen, almost like magic.”

                                - Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

The concept of this book is so great, I love the angels, the magic, the Chimaera, and the humans. Each group has so much to add the the story. Plus the writing is absolutely spectacular. I'm definitely planning on marathoning this trilogy this month.

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme where you post a quote from a book you are currently reading. It is hosted by A Daily Rhythm.

“You could find beauty nearly anywhere if you stopped to look for it, but the battle to get through the days made it easy to forget that this totally cost-free luxury existed.”

                                                        - Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith

So far I'm enjoying this third installment as much as I enjoyed the second (I found the first to be quite slow at times). I also love being back in Robin and Cormoran's world!

Truthwitch Teaser Tuesday #34

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme where you post a quote from a book you are currently reading. It is hosted by A Daily Rhythm.

"Everything had gone horribly wrong. None of Safiya fon Hasstrel's hastily laid plans for this holdup were unfolding as they ought."

                                                        - Truthwitch by Susan Dennard

This week is a little bit different since I'm in the middle of an ARC, but I decided my teaser would just be the first two lines, since that has been released previously and does not spoil anything. I was beyond ecstatic that I received this book and have been forcing myself to slowly read it for the last two weeks.

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme where you post a quote from a book you are currently reading. It is hosted by A Daily Rhythm.

“I would agree that encyclopedias could teach me facts, but only a great story could transport me into the mind of another person. These stories taught me about empathy, about good and evil, about love and sorrow."

                                              - Common Ground by Justin Trudeau

I've had this book for a week, but I said I was going to wait until he won the election to read it. Now that that has happened, I finally get to start it!

                                                        - Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

I started this book last night and I'm already loving it. I was beyond anticipating this book when I found out we were getting a full book of Simon and Baz after meeting them in Fangirl. So far, I love the world and the characters.

Teaser Tuesday #31- Lock and Mori

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme where you post a quote from a book you are currently reading. It is hosted by A Daily Rhythm.

"Only those who have never felt powerless can afford to think like you.
                                                 - Lock & Mori by Heather W. Petty

This was such a fun quick read. I read it in about the span of four hours. I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series and more adventures between Lock and Mori. Only thing I wish we could see is the story from Lock's perspective, that would be really interesting.

“This dangerous girl. This captivating beauty. This destroyer of worlds and creator of wonder.”
                                  - The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

The writing and the descriptions in this book are stunning. I'm about two thirds of the way through and I cannot wait to see what happens. I also love that this is a duology and not the standard trilogy.

                                                              - The Martian by Andy Weir

I have not actually started this yet because this week is full of exams, so I will not have spare time to read. But this is the next book I have to read, so I'm ready to see the movie opening weekend.

Teaser Tuesday #28- The Girl on the Train

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme where you post a quote from a book you are currently reading. It is hosted by A Daily Rhythm.

I'm starting to believe that there isn't anything you can do to fix it. That's what I've taken from the therapy sessions: the holes in your life are permanent. You have to grow around them, like tree roots around concrete; you mold yourself through the gaps”

                                       - The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

I've been reading this book for what feels like forever but that I because I have so little time. That being said, I'm still really enjoying the writing and the story!

Teaser Tuesday #27- Everything, Everything

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme where you post a quote from a book you are currently reading. It is hosted by A Daily Rhythm.

“It's a hard concept to hold on to--the idea that there was a time before us. A time before time. In the beginning there was nothing. And then there was everything.”

                                          - Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

This book is spectacularly written and an amazing debut novel. I read this book in the span of under five hours, it was that good. It was not what I was expecting and it was a wonderful tale of growing up and finding who you truly are.

“My words are unerring tools of destruction, and I’ve come unequipped with the ability to disarm them.”
                                           - The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

So I have finally started this series and even though I'm barely into the first book, I already love it. I adore Maggie Stiefvater's writing style and the spunk and sass of the characters especially Blue! So I cannot wait to get all caught up in time for The Raven King!

“I personally believe Patch scared the pants off normal, and it took off running for the far side of the world.”
                                                            - Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick

I have a little bit of a love-hate relationship with this series. While I love the angels and demons aspect, I do have some issues with Patch's behavior toward Nora. However, it is still a fun read and I have for the most part enjoyed reading the previous books.

                                                  - The Magicians by Lev Grossman

SyFy has made this trilogy into a series and the preview looks absolutely awesome, and obviously I have to read the books first! So far it is interesting and feels very Narnia/Harry Potter Crossover so far and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

                        - Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

I always know when I pick up a YA contemporary I'm in for a fast, quick, cute read. Lola and the Boy Next Door was no exception. Stephanie Perkins is a master when it comes to cute romances and quirky characters that are so easy to fall in love with.

Teaser Tuesday #22- Nil

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme where you post a quote from a book you are currently reading. It is hosted by A Daily Rhythm.

"And once the mask falls off, so does the glamour. That's the island of Nil in a nutshell. Blow-your-mind gorgeous, until you peel away the facade and see her for who she really is.
                                                                       - Nil by Lynne Matson

I finished this book yesterday and I just loved the premise and the setting with this almost sentient island that controls everyone's lives and who comes and leaves the island. It is very Lost-esque. However, I must warn of insta-love because if that bothers you (like it does me), this book may not be for you.

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme where you post a quote from a book you are currently reading. It is hosted by A Daily Rhythm.

“In third grade, I'd once knelt in the posture of penitence in the middle of the school hall for four hours for turning in an incomplete spelling paper. I'd never failed to finish an assignment again.”
                                       - The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent

The world that Rachel Vincent has constructed in this book is absolutely fascinating. I'm loving how involved the Church is and how the world has changed since the degenerates appeared.

                              - The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd

The writing in this is absolutely amazing. I'm not very far into the plot or the characters, but I am loving the style of writing.

                                                       - The Collector by Victoria Scott

While at times this book can be ridiculous and the main character obnoxious, I could not help but fall in love with Dante and Charlie in this book.

                                                            - Ensnared by A. G. Howard

After finishing Ensnared, the Splintered Trilogy may just be my favorite trilogy! I loved this world and the characters, especially Morpheus and all his sass.

                                                            - I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga

I was so fascinated by this book and the idea of a teenager helping the police catch a serial killer using on his own experience with his father being a notorious serial killer.
